Beyond Boundaries: Finding What Really Works
Finding the Sweet Spot
We live in a world that tells us two things at once: Go faster. Do more. Don’t fall behind - and - Slow down. Find balance. Protect your boundaries. No wonder it feels impossible! And it really is impossible if you’re aiming for perfect balance or perfect boundaries. Life doesn’t work like that. But it can work better.
Your Success Formula
Lately I’ve been hearing a lot of this from my clients:
“I’m tired of being told to set boundaries—but I also don’t want to stop caring about my work.”
“It feels like it’s either go full speed or pull the plug. Where’s the in-between?”
“I want to keep pushing toward my goals, but I’m starting to resent how much they take from me.”
Sound familiar?
It’s like we’re all standing in the middle of a tug-of-war. One side: our ambition, drive, responsibilities, goals. The other side: our well-being, health, peace of mind, relationships.
And the pressure to pick a side is real.
But in reality, it isn't about quitting the hustle or pretending we can light candles and meditate our way through Q4. It’s also not about glorifying burnout and calling it “dedication.”
The truth (I've learned the hard way): You can’t do everything. But you can do what matters most when you make space for it.
That space is what I call the sweet spot. It’s not perfect balance (spoiler: that doesn’t exist). It’s a personal rhythm where your ambition and your well-being fuel each other instead of canceling each other out.
And while “boundaries” get thrown around as the go-to solution, most of us don’t need rigid walls, we need intentional space.
Space to breathe. Space to prioritize. Space to say: “Yes, this matters. And no, I’m not available for that right now.”
That kind of clarity can be hard to find on your own. You have to pause long enough to see what’s really driving you and what’s draining you.
One way to intentionally do this: keep an energy journal. Write down what energized you and drained you each day and look for patterns. It can be really enlightening to see where you thrive and wither each day.
But I know how hard it is to carve out time for this kind of reflection (especially when everything feels urgent), so I’m holding space for it.
On Friday, October 10, I’m hosting a free 60-minute workshop called “Between Hustle & Harmony: Finding Your Sweet Spot.” It’s a gentle reset before the end-of-year chaos kicks in.
This workshop will give you time to think through what drives you and what drains you, and you'll walk away with your own workbook of insights, not just ideas.
This year-end I am very intentionally finding a rhythm between group fitness classes (to feel more energy and sense of community), travel to see friends and family (the travel drains me, seeing my people energizes me), my work directly with clients (which mostly energizes and slightly drains me), and my back-office tasks (which definitely drain me).
In a world where nothing is perfect and nothing is perfectly balanced, create your own success formula. Find your own sweet spot and finish this year feeling accomplished instead of exhausted.
Cheers to your success formula,
Sharon
